Transfer from Dalaman Airport to Dalyan. Welcome tour of Dalyan with local guide giving information about the local history and culture. Settle in to a local hotel.
The next day we walk over a hill to the bay of Ekincik and its unspoilt beach. It is difficult to access by road and so most visitors arrive by yacht. The route we take allows us to explore the ancient ruins of Kaunos, with its Roman Baths, Acropolis, harbour and many other ruins including a Medieval castle. We walk through pine forests which hug the dramatic coastline and arrive in Ekincik for a special picnic lunch followed by relaxing swimming in the azure crystal waters of the Mediterranean. The journey back is by local wooden boat, which takes one and a half hours along the rugged coastline, around Iztuzu beach and winding along the river under the ancient rock tombs to Dalyan.
In our jeep safari we make stops for a walk around an old ruined village with a mosque, a short canyon trek in the clear waters of the spring which is the source of a local river, a four course lunch in a restaurant built out of wood on top of a river, a typical Turkish familys house for tea, a secluded beach, a mountain peak overlooking Dalyan, the delta and the surrounding seas, just to mention a few. In between your stops you crash through numerous fords and judder down some seemingly impossible tracks.
Cruise upstream from Dalyan into the 12km long lake and swim in the calm warm volcanic waters. Arrive in Koycegiz at a busy traditional village market and buy ridiculously cheap clothes and jewelry. Have lunch by the lake and cruise down to the hot springs where you can bathe in the healing waters. Overnight in Dalyan.
Pack your bag with swimwear and snorkels. We drive in the morning to the tranquil Asi beach where you will get an introduction to seakayaking. Starting to paddle out from this secluded cove, we will follow the left coast and admire the turquoise water and the rich rock formations. In the next bay, we will head to our first swim stop on a tiny pebble beach hidden under a huge steep rock. Having a short rest, swim, or jumping off a rock, we will then continue our close coast paddling upto a headland and start our long crossing to the right coast. If the waves permit, we get to see a narrow sea cave. Our next stop will be for lunch on a beautiful sandy beach. Your guide is also your cook and will prepare a rich picnic lunch, while you can swim, snorkel and rest. After lunch is a 15-min. paddling back to our start point. At the end of the tour, you`ll have time to drink a cold beverage while we load the kayaks. Our way back to Dalyan is also a nice scenic drive.
Today you will join one of our special boat cruises. Down the river to the beach going on to the sea having a great lunch cooked by the Captain.
The local market has many stalls selling (genuine-fake) brand name watches, clothes, leather goods, shoes and spices, all at extremely cheap prices. In the afternoon we go to a Hamam, or Turkish Bath, where we have a sauna, skin exfoliation and massage, leaving us feeling completely revitalised and fresh.
Reluctantly, we say good-bye and transfer back to the airport.
