Cycling out of Dalyan starting flat with a short climb to Gokbel village. Following the sideroads we pass Dalaman city and cycle out with a gentle climb. The peak we do today is the pass to Gocek with a height of 1000 feet. We spend the afternoon and night in the small sailing village of Gocek
The road to Fethiye has wide shoulders and many small beaches we can have a swim break. The rolling road with some gentle climbs will lead us to Fethiye. After arrival in the hotel we make us ready for a visit to the unique ghost town of Kaya Koy, deserted by the Greeks many years ago.
In the morninng we shutlle out Fethiye to avoid the busy roads. Once more quiet and remote we continue with our own power. Good quality side roads and lots of argiculture and small old village on our way. We take the time to stop on one of the more important ancient Lycian cities: Xanthos. From here a steep climb to Kalkan after which you can enjoy a downhill and a rolling road along the turquoise blue coast ending in Kas which is only at a distance of 8 KM from the Greek island of Meis.
A scenic day with the longest climb of the week, 14 KM to reach the height of 1750 feet. Then enjoy the fresh mountain air. Today’s road will lead us to the village of Ucagiz or also known as Kekova. After lunch we can change our bikes for seakayaks to explore the area from the waterside and see the sunken city. People who prefer to stay on shore can take a nice walk to the Castle of the peninsula. We stay overnight at the small fishing village and enjoy a home made meal.
Cycling out of Kekova will be a real challenge but worth it. The road continues more gentle through small green house villages and follows the coast on a distance. The big descend down is to the town of Santa Claus, St Nikolas, or as we say Demre. Here we stop for a Turkish Tea break and give you time to visit the church of St Nikolas. The late morning and early afternoon will be rolling along the coast to the town of Finike. We take our time and have a swim stop and you will have definitly some stops to take a picture of the breathtaking view.
Already the last day cycling, one of the best with its great variarity in roads and scenery. Starting with the flat raod along the coastline we take our turn to the small peninsula instead of the high climb on the busy mainroad. Cycling through small villages, pineforrest and along the coastline makes it the day to take pictures. The road lead through Adrasan from where we continue to the ancient city of Olympos. Passing with the bikes through this Lycian city is of a different dimension. Ending at the large sand beach of Cirali.
Reluctantly say goodbye. Departure to Antalya airport or continue of your holiday in Turkey. It is possible to get a transfer back to Dalaman airport as well, ask for details.
